About the Client:
An Engineering College located in a rural district spread across a campus area of 30 acers and has been producing engineers for over a decade.Various blocks of the college is well spread and equipped with top of line infracture, Hostel facility, State of the art Labs and the likes.

Scope of Work:

• Inter connecting all the departments to enable Gigabit speed across the network using Fiber Optic Cable as a back bone.
• To have all the systems across the campus have switched speed of 100 Mbps to the desk.
• Share application and resources across the network.
• Deploy absolute Security for the Intranet and also Secure the Internet access.
• To enable all the users in the Intranet to have access to Internet.

Considerations:

• A detialed survey of the site was conduted.
• Distances between the blocks were considered and Fiber Optic Cable to support the Gigabit Speed was considered.
• All internal cabling was based on CAT 6 Standards and enough redudancey for the spoke cables was considered.
• Strctured Cabling as per EIA/TIA guidelines is recommended for ease of maintainance.
• Heirachical design is adapated for the Switching across the campus network.
• Core Switching ( L3)
• Distribution Switching (L3)
• Access Switching (L2)
• Appropriate Router is deployed for access of internet keeping in view the proposal to have multiple ISP’s providing the bandwidth.
• Adapative Security Appliance to enable Content Filtiring, Control of SPAM, Protection against Virus and External Hacking is deployed.

The Solution:

• All Passive components is from Systimax and All Active Electronics from CISCO Systems is delpoyed.
• V LAN’s have been created to avoid traffic congestion and intrusion by unauthorized users.
• Routing in the LAN, defining access controls and providing authentication has been enable on the L3 Switch.
• IP addressing scheme, NATing and the like features have been added to enable the customer use the network without any hassles.
• Our Engineer has been stationed at the site for all trouble shooting purposes.
